It wasn’t an easy road to becoming a master for Chef Pablo “Boy” Logro. A son of a poor fisherman from the province, Chef Boy first got his taste of the restaurant business at the age of 13 when he worked as a houseboy in a Chinese restaurant in Quiapo. Though his responsibilities were only limited to cleaning his master’s three-floor house, Chef Boy would oftentimes run down to the kitchen and help the chef prepare the food. The years that followed led him to Makati, Batangas and to Oman, where he diversified his culinary exposure. He went back to Manila and became Sous Chef and eventually Head Chef at Diamond Hotel. And like most chefs who long to give back, he put up his own school called CHEF LOGRO'S INSTITURE OF CULINARY AND KITCHEN SERVICES, INC. (CLICKS) in Cavite where he has cemented his status as a culinary master. SPOT contributor Sarge Manangan managed to hold down Chef Boy for a short interview during his shoot for QTV Channel 11's show, SECRETS OF THE MASTERS.
